Children made their self-portraits, but not the usual kind. Instead of hair, they had petals; their cheeks were pears, and their noses were bananas. At first, the authors thought it was just a game, but then everything came to life! All the vegetables, fruits, and flowers started moving on the screen, changing shapes, smiling, and seeming to tell us something. They looked so beautiful that you almost forgot they were edible! But then the authors remembered and couldn’t resis and so they tried a little while we were filming. It was so much fun! The children felt like they had become part of a painting, where fruits and vegetables have their own life. And the most amazing thing—it were thier portraits that came alive right before thier eyes! This whole project was inspired by the paintings of Giuseppe Arcimboldo, where faces are created from unexpected combinations of fruits, vegetables, and flowers, turning ordinary objects into living.
