Pickles

Being a teenager comes with many challenges, but sometimes the biggest one is a simple request from mom: “Go down to the basement and get some pickles.” For Nicolas, this banal chore turns into a suffocating test of courage. Lucie Pilousová’s atmospheric animated film balances on the line between childhood horror and nostalgia, asking whether the nightmares of our youth are truly just in our heads.
