This year, for the 17th time, you can meet eager animation filmmakers, educators and animation fans at the four-day international festival of audiovisual works by filmmakers under 26. This year Festival Animánie will take place at the Moving Station cultural centre in Pilsen from 16 to 19 November.

The theme of this year's festival is FILM LABORATORY. In addition to new blockbusters, the programme will also include a number of classics of Czechoslovak cinema.

Traditionally, the festival will present competitive films by individuals and school groups in Czechoslovak and foreign categories. In total, we will offer 155 short films.

In addition to film screenings, this year's programme will also offer animation workshops led by professionals and experienced lecturers, discussions with the jury in an informal setting for filmmakers and viewers, and a game section.

Throughout the festival, you can visit our game zone as one of our side events - a place where you can relax with an indie game or take a heroic journey through a mysterious forest. Games for the little ones await you, as well as dark stories for the strong spirits.

You can also look forward to original gameplay, interviews and trailers. And if you're lucky, you might even meet some of the authors in person!

Letos již posedmnácté se můžete setkat s nadšenými tvůrci animovaných filmů, pedagogy a fanoušky animace na čtyřdenním mezinárodním festivalu audiovizuální tvorby tvůrců do 26 let. I letos Festival Animánie proběhne v prostorách kulturního centra Moving Station v Plzni, a to ve dnech 16. - 19. listopadu.

Tématem letošního festivalu je FILMOVÁ LABORATOŘ. V programu tak kromě filmových novinek uvedeme i řadu klasik československé kinematografie.

Soutěžní filmy jednotlivců i školních kolektivů festival tradičně představí v československých a zahraničních kategoriích. Celkem divákům nabídneme 150 krátkých filmů.

Kromě filmových projekcí nabídne letošní program i animační dílny vedené profesionály a zkušenými lektory, besedy s porotou v neformálním prostředí pro tvůrce i diváky, a herní sekci. Program bude postupně zveřejňován v průběhu září a října, spolu s přihláškami na workshopy a semináře pro pedagogy a se všemi potřebnými informacemi.


The international Festival Animánie is the largest and oldest competitive showcase of audiovisual works by children and young people up to 26 years of age. The competition traditionally attracts short animated films from all around the world, and the dramaturgical board has selected a total of 155 films from several hundreds of entries.

The selected animated films will compete in three categories according to the age of their creators: the MINI ( under 13 years old), MIDI (14-19 years old) and MAXI (20-26 years old). The winners will be decided by an international jury, which will award the festival's Animánička Award in each category.

Starting this year, we have also decided to award the extraordinary Honza Příhoda Award as a tribute to the former long-time festival director.
